Broken Jump rope counter

I had a jump rope with a counter on it. One day it didn't work. So I took the jump rope apart and then negative side was not connected to PCB so I connected. I also added a cheating button. This process took a lot of time for me beacuse the wires would not fit in.
I noticed that the LCD display isn't connected by any wires. I think the pink thing has like little wires in them so if u attach it sends data. Unfortunately, I accidently took off the pink stuff from the display. So I couldn't fix the jump rope.
